This green smoothie is packed full of nutrients. Greens are high in calcium, magnesium, iron, potassium, phosphorous, zinc and vitamins A, C, E and K. In addition, they also contain fiber, folic acid, chlorophyll and many other micronutrients and phytochemicals. Some of the benefits of consuming dark leafy greens include blood purification, improved circulation, disease prevention, a strong immune system, improved organ function, glowing skin and an increase in energy.
- 3 cups water
- 2 Large Handfuls of Spinach (can substitute Kale)
- 1 Green Apple
- 1 celery stalk
- 1 Kiwi
- 1 Banana
- ½ cup frozen fruit of your choice
- 10 ice cubes
- 1 tsp vanilla extract or 1 vanilla bean
- 1 tbsp honey
Add 3 cups of water to the blender
Add the spinach and blend
Chop the apple and kiwi up into small pieces and add it to the blender. Blend.
Chop the stalk of celery into small pieces, add it to the blender and blend.
Break the banana into pieces and add it along with the fruit.
Add the ice, honey and vanilla and blend. Add more honey and blend again if it’s not sweet enough for you.
